Dean Reid, 38, and a co-accused were accused of demanding $5,400 then $10,000 from a Queanbeyan businessman.
Dean Reid, 38, and a 36-year-old co-accused allegedly confronted a Queanbeyan businessman at his workplace on 1 October. Reid allegedly demanded $5,000 to $5,400, claiming the man owed money to another Comanchero member.
Reid then allegedly demanded an extra $10,000, saying it was for using the Comancheros' name 'to pick up chicks'. The man was frightened and believed it was a threat.
A witness intervened and the pair left. Reid was arrested and appeared in court, where bail was refused due to concerns for the complainant's safety.
