Ben Lester leaves Strathfieldsaye after 16 years to join Bridgewater
Ben Lester, 32, has ended his 16-year Bendigo league career. He left Strathfieldsaye and joined Bridgewater in the Loddon Valley league.
Ben Lester has left Strathfieldsaye after 16 years to join Bridgewater in the Loddon Valley league. Lester is reuniting with former teammates at the club.
Lester is a respected player who played more than 200 games for Strathfieldsaye. Lester won two premierships with the club in 2017 and 2019.
At 32, Lester decided it was time for a change of scenery. Four of Lester's former Strathfieldsaye teammates play for Bridgewater.
They are Harry Conway, Jack Neylon, Joe Mayes, and Josh Martyn. Lachlan Sharp, another ex-Strathfieldsaye player, coaches Bridgewater.
Boden Alexander is also returning to play there. Lester also spent three seasons coaching Strathfieldsaye's reserves.
Bridgewater won the Loddon Valley premiership last month.
