Luke Hillier steers Osborne into grand final with five-goal display
Luke Hillier kicked five goals in Osborne's 17.10 (112) to 9.9 (63) preliminary final win despite his seventh game.
Hillier, 31, is the older brother of Azzi medallist Max, who this week won his second league best and fairest award. Luke had not planned to play this season after joining Geelong Amateur but returned to Osborne to just play alongside Max.
Luke Hillier played his first four games to qualify for finals and has since featured in three finals. In Saturday's win, his five goals across the match helped seal Osborne's 14th successive victory.
The first three quarters were closely contested, but Osborne dominated the last quarter to set up next week's grand final against Henty. Hillier said he only wanted to play alongside his younger brother.
He admitted consistency is difficult when playing only a few games but said the last three games had helped him build form.
