Man charged with theft and indecent exposure refused bail
Joseph Darren Williams, 37, was refused bail twice on charges including larceny and sexual conduct.
A 37-year-old man appeared in bail court on Sunday. Joseph Darren Williams was accused of stealing from a Cessnock supermarket and exposing himself repeatedly.
Williams faced three counts of theft, two of behaving offensively in public, and one of sexual assault without consent. Police were called to a hall on Cumberland Street on Wednesday, September 16, after reports of inappropriate behavior.
The next day they got multiple reports of thefts at a supermarket on Keene Street. During the alleged thefts, Williams allegedly exposed himself both inside and outside the store.
Police refused him bail. The bail court also refused bail.
He will appear in Cessnock Local Court on October 1.
