Jake Robinson murder trial verdict set for October 9 in Mexico

Trial of Perth brothers Callum and Jake Robinson closes with a verdict on October 9 in Ensenada, Mexico.

The judge dismissed the final witness, ending the evidence phase after more than two years. Closing arguments are October 8.

The verdict will come at 10am on October 9. Three men are accused: Jesus Gerardo (known as El Kekas), Irineo Francisco, and Angel Jesus.

They face charges of aggravated homicide and robbery. These charges relate to the April 2024 deaths of Callum and Jake Robinson and their American friend Carter Rhoad.

The prosecution says the men were killed during an attempted robbery. Their bodies were later dumped down a well.

Callum and Jake's parents Martin and Debra Robinson asked the judge to move the verdict forward. They wanted to stay in Mexico to hear it.

The three accused sat just metres from the Robinson family in court on Thursday. They wore orange jumpsuits and were shackled.
