Lee Steel watches son's grand final after doctors gave her two weeks to live
Mother with metastasised cancer, told she had two weeks, attended her son's football grand final last Saturday.
Lee Steel sat in her camp chair at Reid Oval in Warrnambool on Saturday watching her son Mackai play in the Hampden Football Netball League grand final. Three weeks earlier, doctors had given her just two weeks to live.
In May, Lee had learned her triple negative breast cancer had returned and spread throughout her entire body. Doctors estimated she had between six to 24 months.
Yet she made it to the field, her car decorated with laminated photos of every player and coach. The family spent the morning taping up red and white streamers for what Lee called 'an incredible blessing'.
