Grandfather and grandson unite at Warrnambool football grand final
Oscar Uebergang watched the WDFNL grand final with grandfather Graeme, extending four generations of family ties to Nirranda.
Oscar Uebergang and his grandfather Graeme watched the Warrnambool and District Football Netball League grand final together. The match was at Reid Oval on Saturday.
Oscar plays for Nirranda Under 16s. His family's ties to the club go back to his great-grandparents.
Graeme played for Nirranda South many years ago as a flank or wing player. Oscar said the best part of footy is the support and friendships made.
Sharing the day with his grandfather was special. Another family, the Browns, also attended.
Father Josh and siblings Eve and Willa supported their local teams. Eve plays for Russells Creek.
She said making friends through the sport mattered most.
