Fort chases rare premiership feat in 83rd game for Lions
Brisbane's Darcy Fort will play in just his 83rd game Saturday seeking a third premiership.
Darcy Fort, 33, has staged one of the AFL's most remarkable late-career revivals. Two years ago he was filling in for injured ruckman Oscar McInerney.
Now he will line up in Saturday's Grand Final seeking his third premiership in just 83 games. Only four players in AFL history have won three flags in fewer matches: Nathan Broad (70), Brad Hill (75), Jonathan Brown (76) and Toby Nankervis (82).
Fort has played 46 of the last 53 games and won flags in both years. Against Fremantle's All-Australian, Luke Jackson, he will need to stay switched on every bounce.
