Brisbane players back football manager Daly as Fagan's successor
Brisbane players are championing assistant Danny Daly to take over if coach Chris Fagan departs after this season.
Fagan is coaching his fourth straight Grand Final on Saturday and has one year left on his contract. The 65-year-old will decide his future after this season ends.
Players have publicly backed football manager Danny Daly, who joined Brisbane in 2020. Daly previously worked at Collingwood, North Melbourne and Richmond.
He has refused interest from Gold Coast, Collingwood, Essendon, West Coast and Melbourne. Jarrod Berry said Daly leads by example and cares deeply about the players.
Darcy Gardiner told media Daly would make a great head coach if he wanted the role. Chairman Andrew Wellington said the club values Daly and Fagan's steady, no-nonsense approach as much as the players.
