Three unreleased Chrissy Amphlett songs recorded with Tim Finn will be released this week.
A two-part Australian Story documentary reveals the private life of Chrissy Amphlett, the fierce lead singer who defined Australian rock from the 1980s onward. The series features original band members and unseen behind-the-scenes footage of Divinyls' early days.
Keyboardist Bjarne Ohlin only recently discovered Super 8 film footage in storage that he shot in the early 1980s and had not seen in decades. The three new songs Amphlett wrote and recorded with singer-songwriter Tim Finn before her death are the real find.
Finn describes their collaboration as special, magical and real. Amphlett's husband Charley Drayton, an American drummer, is thrilled the songs have been found.
She battled multiple sclerosis and breast cancer in her final years, but her voice will reach audiences again.
