Ascot and Hamilton replace Pullenvale as Brisbane's richest suburbs
Ascot and Hamilton are now Brisbane's richest suburbs, replacing Pullenvale, with top 1% earners averaging $2.2 million.
Brisbane's wealthy suburbs are reshuffling. In 2022-23, Ascot and Hamilton became the top earners' hotspots, with the top 1% bringing in an average of $2.2 million a year before tax.
Pullenvale, which held the crown five years earlier, has slipped to seventh place. Three new suburbs have entered the top 10: Fig Tree Pocket, Newstead and Norman Park, while Brookfield, Hendra and Yeronga have fallen out completely.
The shifts partly reflect movements of ultra-wealthy individuals. In 2023, mining entrepreneur Adam Beswick bought the heritage estate Amity House in New Farm for $20.5 million, while corporate director Howard Stack and his wife sold their Mirvac penthouse for $16 million.
