Chinese luxury brand HQ brings three electric SUVs to Australia

HQ, China's oldest auto brand, confirms three electric SUVs launching November 2026, targeting around 1000 monthly sales.

Chinese luxury brand HQ, owned by state-backed China FAW Group since 1958, confirms its Australian launch next November with three electric SUV models. The large E-HS9 arrives first, followed within six months by smaller siblings EHS4 and EHS5.

First deliveries start January 2027. The brand aims for 1000 sales monthly once all three reach showrooms by mid-2027, with an eventual goal of 30,000 annual sales.

HQ will price below established German rivals like Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, similar to how Chinese brand Zeekr undercuts Tesla. A sedan model, potentially an electric version of the EH7, is planned to follow the SUVs.
