Carlton bolsters coaching with Fagan appointment
Fagan, who won three straight premierships with Brisbane, takes a newly created director of coaching role at Carlton.
Carlton have signed Chris Fagan in a major coup, beating out Collingwood, Melbourne, and Tasmania for the 65-year-old coach. Fagan left Brisbane last month after leading the Lions to an unprecedented three-peat premiership.
Fagan expressed a desire to move to Melbourne, and Carlton created a director of coaching position to bring him in. The role will see Fagan support rookie head coach Josh Fraser, including a match-day presence.
Fagan said he was passionate about helping coaches and players reach their best on a full-time basis. Football boss Chris Davies called Fagan a proven winner with rare experience in building high-performing environments.
