Organic Queensland cattle station heads to auction
An organically certified 142,000-hectare Queensland cattle station is heading to auction in Brisbane on November 6.
Flodden Hills is a substantial grazing property situated 110 kilometres north-west of Windorah in western Queensland. The property typically runs about 1800 breeding cattle along with younger stock.
Flodden Hills has productive downs, creek flood-out areas, stony ridges and edible mulga scrubland. The station has plenty of water from creeks and dams.
Some are equipped with solar pumps and Farmbot monitoring. Seven sets of cattle yards are spread across the property.
A large steel facility can process about 700 head. Owner Stuart Ramsey has reduced herd numbers in recent years before the sale.
Marketing agent Sam Bartlett says Flodden Hills offers an established low-cost beef production system with scope to add value through organic certification.
