Queensland sweeps BeefEx awards for feedlot excellence
Queensland operations claimed the Australian Feedlot of the Year and ALFA Young Lot Feeder of the Year awards at BeefEx 2026.
Queensland operations claimed top awards at the BeefEx conference on the Gold Coast. The Australian Feedlot of the Year award recognises excellence in animal welfare, environmental care, innovation and business performance.
Chloe Gordon is a livestock manager at Opal Creek Feedlot near Dunmore in Queensland and won the Zoetis Excellence in Feedlot Education Medal. Zac McGee works at Mort & Co in Dalby, Queensland.
He claimed the ALFA Young Lot Feeder of the Year award. ALFA president Grant Garey said the winners show the passion and hard work driving the grain-fed beef sector.
