Iran's Pezeshkian vows to fight US but signals readiness for talks

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the UN General Assembly and delivered a defiant message: Iran will not back down, but is open to diplomacy. The US delegation walked out as he spoke.
Pezeshkian said Iran is denied access to the Strait of Hormuz. This waterway carries a fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas.
Other nations use it freely, but Iran cannot. Pezeshkian said Iran was ready for talks without accepting force.
This comes a day after Trump told the UN he could annihilate the Islamic Republic if no deal is reached. Trump said his chief envoys met with Iranian officials for about three hours on the sidelines.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump is open to meeting Pezeshkian while he is in New York.
