Outgoing CIT chief ends court battle with TAFE NSW
McNeill quit CIT and dropped legal action against TAFE NSW in August.
Margot McNeill was leaving her job as Canberra Institute of Technology chief executive. McNeill dropped her legal case against TAFE NSW.
McNeill quit CIT last month after a Legislative Assembly privileges committee said her conduct should be looked into. A parliamentary inquiry found she had "actively misled" the CIT board during hiring.
She did this by denying a prior misconduct finding from TAFE NSW. TAFE NSW's earlier review found she broke the code of conduct.
McNeill took her case to NSW Supreme Court to seek a review of her employment reclassification. She ended that court case in August.
Both sides agreed, and no one had to pay legal costs. McNeill got $445,000 when she quit.
CIT named an acting chief executive and a deputy chief executive. A parliamentary inquiry is also looking at this.
It will consider whether merging the public training organization with the University of Canberra makes sense.
