Both jockeys released from hospital after Caulfield Cup fall

Two jockeys left hospital after getting hurt in Saturday's Caulfield Cup. Neither had serious injuries.

Mark Zahra rode Half Yours, last year's Caulfield and Melbourne Cup winner. Mark Zahra and Jye McNeil left hospital after overnight stays following a fall in Saturday's Caulfield Cup.

They escaped serious injury. Half Yours fell about 300 metres from the finish line.

The horse got cuts but is standing and stable at Flemington stable. Trainer Tony McEvoy said the horse has four staples in a front leg and four in a back leg.

There is also a small cut on the chest. All of these are minor wounds.

McEvoy said Half Yours is unlikely to run the Melbourne Cup. The stewards stopped inquiries into both falls.

They will review them again later.
