NSW batter Ollie Davies smashed the fastest double century in Sheffield Shield history on Friday, reaching 200 off just 186 balls. Davies was eventually dismissed for a remarkable 253 off 225 deliveries.
The 25-year-old cracked 38 fours and four sixes in his first-class double ton. Davies was the first NSW batter to score a Shield double-hundred since 2017 and only the second player to reach 200 in the competition since February 2024.
