Roosters' Robinson hints Watson may still play grand final despite concussion
Connor Watson suffered a category one concussion but coach Trent Robinson may seek an exemption from the 11-day ban.
Connor Watson lasted just 60 seconds against the Dolphins, his head striking forward Kulikefu Finefeuiaki's hip in the 31st minute at Suncorp Stadium. An independent doctor deemed it a category one concussion, overturning the Roosters' initial category two assessment.
The verdict normally means an 11-day stand-down. Watson would miss next Sunday's grand final in Sydney.
Trent Robinson said Watson was undergoing extra tests. He refused to rule out seeking an exemption.
"That's still watch this space on Connor. It depends on how his tests go," Robinson said.
The Roosters beat the Dolphins 36-20 to set up a decider against Penrith or Newcastle.
