Raiders seek grand final upset against unbeaten Roosters
Canberra Raiders play Sydney Roosters on Saturday seeking a grand final spot despite the Roosters going undefeated through the regular season.
The Raiders beat Wests Tigers 6-0 in their elimination final last Friday to stay alive in the NRLW finals. Now they face the Sydney Roosters, who won all 11 regular-season games.
The Roosters are heavy favourites, but the Raiders have form against them. Earlier this year, they lost to the Roosters 22-18 and led for much of that match, showing they can compete.
Co-captain Simaima Taufa is banned and will only play again if Canberra wins. Her teammates are using that as fuel.
Props Sophie Holyman and Chloe Saunders said they want to make Taufa proud and earn her a grand final appearance. The Raiders have gone from finishing 11th last season to just one win away from their first grand final.
