Galilee School opens commemorative garden for 25-year milestone
Galilee School marks 25 years with a garden honouring supporters and the 2003 bushfires that effectively destroyed it.
Galilee School opened in 1999 and now marks a quarter-century of serving young people who have faced barriers to mainstream education. The school's new Commemorative Garden at its Kambah campus features native plants, stonework and pathways honouring contributors.
A spiral garden section names inaugural inductees for their lasting impact on the school's culture and success. Students will maintain the garden.
The garden also commemorates the 2003 Canberra bushfires that effectively destroyed the original campus. Principal Tim McNevin said it ensures "their contribution is remembered and celebrated for generations to come."
