Rosa's restaurant reopens as National Rose Gardens construction finally ends
Rosa's reopens with all-day dining as the 18-month National Rose Gardens construction project ends.
Rosa's at The Lawns is relaunching as the National Rose Gardens, which sit on the restaurant's doorstep, finally reopen after 18 months of construction. The restaurant operated behind a 2.2-metre perimeter fence, with many customers mistaking the venue for closed.
Director Amber Maddigan reflects that a temporary closure may have been better than weathering ongoing losses while keeping staff employed. Spring brings Floriade to Canberra, and Rosa's is repositioning as a gathering place.
Breakfast is now available Wednesday to Sunday from 7am, with dishes like smashed avocado on sourdough and French toast. Lunch includes antipasto, wood-fired pizzas and cocktails.
Dinner service returns on 7 October, five nights a week. The venue, originally the Lobby Restaurant, is housed in a postmodern building designed to open to the gardens.
