Quamby farm sells for $4.3m, beating pre-auction hopes

Quamby is a productive farming property 32 kilometres from Dubbo. Quamby sold at auction to an adjoining neighbour.
The price of $4.3 million equals about $9,451 per hectare. Four registered bidders competed in front of about 40 people at the Dubbo auction.
The property has 405 hectares of previously cropped and improved pasture land. Currently planted are 40 hectares of wheat and 57 hectares of oats.
Established pastures include lucerne, sub clover and clover. The land is divided into 25 main paddocks with double gateways.
The property includes a comfortable four-bedroom homestead with verandahs. It has an 8-kilowatt solar system and a swimming pool.
Major farm buildings include shearing shed, cattle yards, grain storage and fuel storage.
