Ainsworth reaches 200 games and grand final in same thrilling day
Ellie Ainsworth marked her 200th game for Wodonga by playing in her first grand final after a 53-52 win.
Emotional scenes erupted at Albury Sportsground on Sunday as the Bulldogs held off Yarrawonga in a one-goal thriller. Ainsworth, who has played for the club since childhood, finally achieved her lifelong dream: a grand final appearance.
Ainsworth's father Keith is a Wodonga record-holder with two premierships. Molly Moylan led the scoring with 36 goals for Wodonga.
The Bulldogs face Wodonga Raiders in the A-grade netball grand final, the first time the two clubs will meet in the decider in league history.
