Age pension rises by $36.80 a fortnight for 2.7 million Australians
Single pensioners will receive an extra $36.80 per fortnight from 20 September, while couples get $55.60 more.
About 2.7 million age pensioners will see a pay rise from 20 September as the government lifts the maximum fortnightly rate. Singles will go up to $1,237.70 per fortnight, an increase of $36.80.
Couples will receive $1,866.00 combined, a rise of $55.60. The new rates include the pension and energy supplements.
Disability Support Pension recipients will also get upward adjustments in the same round.
