Melbourne scaleup Heidi becomes unicorn after $140m funding round
Heidi is a Melbourne AI startup that reached unicorn status with a $1.26bn valuation. This came after a $140m Series C led by Blackbird.
Blackbird led the US$100m (A$140m) Series C alongside Phoenix Court, Point72 Private Investments and Headline. The valuation nearly doubled from $703m in less than 12 months after an October 2025 Series B. General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund also gave a separate US$240m growth investment.
This money helps expand sales worldwide. Heidi launched in February 2024.
It records patient consultations and then generates clinical notes automatically. The software has been used in more than 20 million patient interactions across 190 countries in 110 languages.
The company now produces 2.8 million clinical notes per week. This makes it the world's biggest AI scribe by volume.
Annual recurring revenue reached US$50m in April, up from US$1m two years earlier.
