Peet launches 128-townhouse first stage of Bruce estate

Peet Limited will build 128 townhouses in Bruce. This first stage of Onderra will eventually house 3700 residents.

Peet Limited has applied to build 128 townhouses in Bruce. This is the first stage of Onderra, a new neighbourhood.

Peet bought the land from the University of Canberra for $66 million in 2023. The first stage will cost $67 million and cover 13 buildings across almost 37,000 square metres.

The full estate will eventually contain 1600 homes and take 15 years to build. The townhouses have two, three, or four bedrooms.

All have double or tandem garages. Onderra is built for sustainability.

It includes 7-8 star buildings, solar passive design, rainwater harvesting, and EV charging stations. The tree canopy will reach about 36 per cent at full growth.

The development will connect to the UC campus, nearby parks, and a new green space called Spring Square. About 1000 square metres of shops, offices, and education space are also planned.

The application is open for public comment until 9 November.
