North Bendigo premiership star Ryan Hartley named league's best player
Ryan Hartley won the Cheatley Medal with 32 votes and co-coached North Bendigo to the premiership.
Ryan Hartley has been recognized as the top player in the Heathcote District league after a standout 2026 season. Hartley won the Cheatley Medal with 32 votes, the Bulldogs' best and fairest award, and the Steven Bennett Memorial Award.
Hartley was also named in the center and as captain of the league Team of the Year. Hartley credited his success to extra pre-season training following last year's grand final loss.
North Bendigo won the premiership with Hartley as co-coach. Hartley will not return to the club next season, instead joining Bendigo league rival Golden Square.
