Man dies in three-car crash at Corrimal intersection
A man in his 30s died and an 18-year-old woman was hospitalised after a three-vehicle crash in Corrimal on Sunday evening.
A three-vehicle collision on Memorial Drive at Rothery Street in Corrimal on Sunday evening around 8.40pm claimed one life. A sedan and station wagon collided first, then the sedan hit a third vehicle.
All three vehicles left the roadway and crashed into trees. A man believed to be in his 30s who was driving the sedan died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the station wagon, an 18-year-old woman, was treated for injuries and taken to Wollongong Hospital in stable condition. The driver and passenger of the third vehicle were assessed but did not require hospital care.
Police have established a crime scene and begun investigating the circumstances. A coroner's report will follow.
