ACT Police issued 76 fines and 45 defect notices in a weekend hooning operation in rural Canberra.
ACT Policing ran an operation across rural Canberra on Friday and Saturday nights. It targeted hooning and anti-social driving at late gatherings.
Officers from the Rural Patrol and Tuggeranong Police Station issued 76 fines and 45 vehicle defect notices. Three vehicles were seized for improper use.
Police found two drivers over the alcohol limit and five over the drug limit. Detective Inspector Mark Steel said hooning on rural roads is totally unacceptable to rural communities.
Police will keep patrolling to remove dangerous drivers.
