Warrnambool home hits market for first time in 40 years, sells for $650k
A three-bedroom Warrnambool home off the market for more than 40 years sold for $650,000 at auction on Saturday.
A three-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 7 Membery Way in Warrnambool sold for $650,000 on Saturday after more than four decades off the market. About 30 people attended the auction.
The property, on 613 square metres near West Warrnambool Primary School, was expected to sell between $595,000 and $650,000. Bidding opened at $500,000 and rose quickly in $25,000 jumps between two main bidders.
A third bidder entered at $640,000, then a late arrival placed the winning bid of $650,000. The agent said the late arrival had swooped in during a tense race to claim the property.
