An Viet on Keira Street nears opening after two-year delay
An Viet is 90 per cent ready to open its first Wollongong location, more than two years after the signs went up.
An Viet announced on September 12 that its Keira Street location was 90 per cent complete. Signage is up, kitchen equipment is being installed, and tables are being made.
The site was first revealed in June 2024 with an expected October opening, but has sat dormant ever since. The location previously housed the respected Vietnamese restaurant Trang, which closed in 2019, and before that the Chinese venue Xanadu by Ziggy's.
An Viet is a family-owned chain that started in 2013; the Wollongong venue will be its first outside Sydney. No official opening date has been announced, though based on the pace so far, the final 10 per cent could be finished by Christmas.
