Stephen Amell cast as Hobie in Fox's Baywatch reboot headed to international

Fox is launching a Baywatch reboot with Stephen Amell in the lead role, with original creators returning and McG directing the premiere.

The iconic lifeguard series is being remade for a new audience. Stephen Amell will play Hobie Buchannon alongside Jessica Belkin, Shay Mitchell, Noah Beck and others.

Original series creators Michael Berk, Greg Bonann and Doug Schwartz are returning as executive producers, with director McG helming the premiere episode. Matt Nix (known for Burn Notice) is the showrunner.

Fox holds US rights while Fremantle is shopping the show to international buyers, particularly through Prime Video territories. The reboot promises the same high-stakes beach rescues and ensemble drama that defined the original.
