Crew vanishes as 16-foot ski boat found half-submerged
A 16-foot ski boat found half-submerged at Magnetic Island off Townsville has sparked a major search with no crew found.
A 16-foot ski boat was discovered half-submerged at Horseshoe Bay on Magnetic Island, off Townsville, at 5.30pm on Saturday. The green and white fibreglass vessel, fitted with an outboard motor, has not been claimed since it washed ashore.
Police launched a major search and rescue operation, and a helicopter was sent to help, but no one has been found. The boat remains unclaimed and authorities are asking anyone who recognises it to contact police with information about the owner and their whereabouts.
