Scottish immigrant Jamie Beaton arrived in 2015 with little but built one of Northern Tasmania's most prolific real estate practices.
After working in freezing Norway, Jamie Beaton came to Australia in late 2015 seeking warmth and sunshine. Jamie flew to Melbourne but nearly left when he hit a heatwave.
Jamie moved to Hobart, met Monique, and fell in love. When his job was removed from the visa list, marriage became the only way for him to stay.
They married in January 2017. His visa paperwork took nine months, keeping him in New Zealand until days before the wedding.
Jamie started in real estate with no suit, buying trousers at Target. Jamie worked every weekend for two years to build his reputation.
Today, Jamie ranks among Northern Tasmania's most prolific real estate agents.
