Kate Hore becomes first Melbourne Demon to play 100 AFLW games
Kate Hore reaches her 100th AFLW match this weekend, the only woman to complete the milestone entirely with the Demons.
Kate Hore will become the first Melbourne player to reach 100 AFLW games, and she has done it all in the red and blue. Kate Hore joined the Demons in 2018 as a basketball-playing rookie and has missed just one game due to injury in 10 seasons.
Other Melbourne greats like Libby Birch and Lily Mithen played some of their games at other clubs before joining the Demons. Early in her career, Hore's forwards coach gave her a photo of two paths and told her she could be an ordinary player who just goes about her business, or she could push harder and see where that path led.
Hore kept that photo on her phone and used it to fuel her drive. Now 31, she has developed into one of the AFLW's most elegant and consistent players.
