WA police officer charged with assaulting five-week-old baby
A 30-year-old Western Australian police officer has been charged with aggravated common assault on his five-week-old baby.
The officer was charged after an incident on Sunday involving his newly born child. The five-week-old was taken to Perth Children's Hospital as a precaution.
Child Abuse Squad detectives charged him with aggravated common assault. WA Police confirmed on Thursday he has been stood down from duty.
The man will appear at Midland Magistrates Court in suburban Perth on Thursday.
