Patriots end Bills' perfect start with 29-26 upset win
Drake Maye threw three touchdown passes as the New England Patriots beat the previously unbeaten Buffalo Bills 29-26 on Sunday.
Maye, who had thrown six interceptions in New England's first three games, delivered three touchdown passes including a one-handed catch by Efton Chism with 1:50 left. The Patriots trailed 26-21 before Maye led an eight-play drive capped by the winning score.
Maye finished 22 of 37 for 269 yards and shook off two first-half turnovers. Romeo Doubs caught two touchdown passes and Rhamondre Stevenson scored on a 1-yard run.
Buffalo's Josh Allen threw for 253 yards with a touchdown but also tossed an interception that sealed the loss. The Bills' defence was hampered by injuries to cornerback Christian Benford and tackle Ed Oliver.
New England improved to 2-2 while Buffalo dropped to 3-1, keeping the AFC East tightly contested.
