Seven Newcastle venues pour wines from Hunter Valley wineries this November
City Cellar Door launches November 21, letting drinkers taste from seven Hunter Valley wineries across seven Newcastle East pubs in one afternoon.
City Cellar Door will bring the Hunter Valley to Newcastle's CBD on Saturday, November 21, from 11am to 5pm. Seven wineries will pour at seven venues.
The wineries are Margan, Charteris, Mercer, Vinden, De Iuliis, Swinging Bridge and Byrne Farm. They will pour at Customs House, The Ship Inn, The Grand Hotel, Humbug, Bartholomew's, The Great Northern and The Grain Store.
Tickets cost $80 and include tastings, a $30 food voucher, olive oil tasting and ice cream pairing with Mercer Wines. The event is part of efforts to revive Newcastle East.
It is backed by a $200,000 NSW government grant and $60,000 from Newcastle City Council. A new courtesy bus launches in October.
It runs Friday and Saturday nights and links venues across the city.
