South Australia offers record $1 million reward for missing Gus Lamont
A record $1 million reward has been offered for information on four-year-old Gus Lamont. He has been missing since September 27.
South Australia Police announced an unprecedented reward Wednesday. The announcement came just days before the first anniversary of Gus Lamont's disappearance from Oak Park Station near Yunta.
The four-year-old vanished while playing outside the homestead at the sprawling sheep station. The $1 million is the largest reward ever offered in South Australia.
It will go to anyone who gives information leading to Gus's recovery or the conviction of those responsible. Police have identified some anomalies in aerial images of the vast property.
They did a manual review after AI analysis. Detectives are assessing whether these anomalies require further ground searches.
More than 700 square kilometres have already been searched by air and ground teams. There were 11 separate operations.
