Police launch homicide inquiry into infant death in Redan
An eight-month-old girl was found unresponsive in Redan on Sunday. Homicide squad detectives will investigate her death.
Police were called to a home on Leith Street in Redan on Sunday. Redan is an inner suburb of Ballarat.
Police found a baby girl unresponsive. Emergency services performed CPR and took her to Ballarat Hospital just after 1pm.
The baby was moved to a Melbourne hospital but died on Tuesday. A 23-year-old man was questioned by police and released pending further enquiries.
