Four goals in his first final kept Arty Jones at the Western Bulldogs
Arty Jones signed a three-year extension with the Western Bulldogs despite longer-term and more lucrative offers from Essendon and Brisbane.
Arty Jones entered 2026 on a one-year deal that felt like make-or-break. After playing only 16 senior games in his first four seasons, the 23-year-old forward needed to prove himself.
He did. Jones played 20 games this season, kicked 27 goals and made both finals.
In his first final against Collingwood, he kicked four goals from 17 disposals, a statement performance that made him a target for rival clubs. Essendon and Brisbane came calling with longer contracts and better money.
But Jones chose to stay at Whitten Oval. He signed a three-year deal through 2029, telling AFL.com.au that the club's vision for him and his own desire to build something special there outweighed the financial offers.
His partner Olivia also helped him manage the pressure of the decision.
