Perth's central business district will gain 174 new rental apartments through a 30-storey development on Roe Street. The project should be finished by 2029.
Of these apartments, 139 will be affordable rentals and 35 will be social homes. Housing and Works Minister John Carey called it the 21st build-to-rent project in Western Australia.
The apartments will have one or two bedrooms. They sit close to public transport, jobs, and amenities.
The development was designed by Perth-based architects MJA Studio. It includes high-performance insulation, natural ventilation, and all-electric services to cut energy costs.
Once built, a community housing provider will buy the building and manage it.
