Strip club owner banned from his own venues for 12 months
A tribunal upheld a ban on Manthos Papadopoulos entering high-risk venues for 12 months. This includes his own two clubs.
Manthos Papadopoulos owns Sydney Elements and Showgirls. He cannot enter any high-risk venue in Kings Cross or Sydney CBD for a year.
A NSW tribunal ruled this on Monday. The Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority imposed the ban in July at police request.
Papadopoulos faces seven charges. One includes intentionally choking a person without consent after an incident at Sydney Elements in March.
He was also charged for other alleged incidents at the same club and his home. During a police interview, he claimed CCTV footage was "AI-generated and a conspiracy."
The tribunal found enough risk of troublemaking behavior if he attended either venue. He said the ban hurt his livelihood.
He cited over $17 million invested in the business.
