Wakefield Trinity wins Super League Grand Final on first attempt
Wakefield won 23-10 over Warrington to claim the Super League crown in their maiden Grand Final appearance.
Wakefield Trinity became only the sixth club to win the Super League title and the first since 1968 to claim the crown. Only two years ago, they were playing in the Championship after relegation.
The club dominated Warrington in a devastating first half, racing to a 19-0 lead with tries from Cameron Scott, Isaiah Vagana and Jazz Tevaga, plus a drop goal from Jack Sinfield. Warrington scored twice in the second half through Arron Lindop, but it was never enough.
Tom Johnstone sealed the result with Trinity's fourth try.
