Newcastle fan flies 24 hours from New York to watch grand final
Die-hard supporter Jake Denny is flying from New York to Sydney for a 24-hour visit to watch Sunday's grand final.
Newcastle Knights superfan Jake Denny is flying from New York to Sydney on Sunday, arriving at 9:20am and heading straight to Homebush. Denny will watch the grand final and fly back to New York on Monday.
Denny has lived in the US for five months, working in crypto, but could not miss the game. Denny was present at Newcastle's grand final victories in 1997 and 2001, and said missing this one after 25 years was unthinkable.
His 9-year-old daughter Lillian gave him permission to miss her birthday party on Sunday to be at the match.
