Kate Farr appointed permanent NSW innovation director

Kate Farr takes permanent role leading NSW's 10-year Innovation Blueprint 2035.

Kate Farr, who had been acting director since April in the Premier's Department, now takes the permanent position. NSW Innovation Blueprint 2035 aims to generate thousands of new startups and add billions to the state economy.

The Minns government funded the blueprint last year with $38.5 million for Tech Central, which is only now launching after settling its governance model with universities and tech firms. Farr is a longtime public servant and former lawyer.

The decade-long strategy launched 18 months ago.
