Canberra's MyWay+ ticketing app stopped working on newer Android phones. Contractor NEC missed Google's deadline to update the platform.

The MyWay+ app stopped working on newer Android devices. This was because NEC, the contractor for the ticketing system, missed Google's deadline to meet platform requirements.

The ACT government said NEC did not warn them the app would go down. New transport minister Tara Cheyne said she has little patience for such surprises.

She is meeting with NEC's new chief executive. The ACT Greens raised concerns about how well the government watches over the contractor.
