Perth Wildcats sign NBA veteran Brandon Knight after 18-month pursuit
NBA veteran Brandon Knight has signed with the Perth Wildcats as their import guard for the upcoming NBL season.
The Perth Wildcats have finally signed Brandon Knight, an NBA veteran they have pursued for more than 18 months. Knight, who turns 35 in December, was drafted eighth overall by Detroit in 2011 in a class that included Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard.
Brandon Knight spent a decade in the NBA across six teams, with his best season coming with Phoenix in 2015-16 when he averaged 19.6 points and 5.1 assists per game. Injuries interrupted his career, including a torn ACL in 2017-18, but he has remained healthy in overseas play.
Knight most recently played in Puerto Rico, averaging 18.0 points and 6.3 assists across 20 games. The Wildcats had tried to sign him last season as an injury replacement for David Duke Jr., but the deal fell through at the deadline.
